🚨 What Happened

**• A sitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor from Junagadh Municipal Corporation — Abbas Ibrahim, also known by the alias Gambler Qureshi — along with his brother Aslam Ibrahim (a former BJP councillor) and two others were arrested and booked under the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime Act (GujCTOC).

📍 Allegations & Police Claims

According to the police complaint:

  • The four accused are alleged to be part of what officers describe as the “Gambler Gang”, implicated in a string of serious criminal acts in Junagadh over the past decade.
  • Alleged offences include cyberfraud, extortion, attempted murder, possession of arms, assault, death threats, and other organised crime activities.
  • Police also believe the group may have used online banking and cryptocurrency to launder illegal funds.
